I was able to catch Larry Coryell several times with band and solo. Once standing outside the open door at the Golden Bear in HB got in for free to see his last set if I ordered the 2 drink minimum and tipped the waitress which I did gladly. Also caught Alphonse Mouzon several times!

Talk about memories… this show was incredible, I had the pleasure to be there during the sound check, it was probably the fourth or fifth of his concerts I had the pleasure of watching, after that I also watched the one in 2004 at OTSFM, and lately 2023 Thalia Hall, all of the concerts were on another musical level, impossible to compare. These formation (to me) was the most energetic of all, Fabio Paschoal had recently joined the band with Hermeto, Itiberê, Jovino Santos, Márcio Bahia, Pernambuco e Carlos Malta, after the concert we tried to go to the Jazz Bulls, unfortunately they had just closed for the night… Thanks BigFootPeGrande.

I have been a huge fan of David Sancious and Tone since 1975. I saw the orifinal 3 piece 3 times. The first was at Houston Hall, U PENN campus, Philadelphia, Pa. That was an extroadinary show- mostly Forest of Feelings songs, and including music that would be Transformation released that fall. Next was December 3, 1975 at Montgomery county college opening for Hall and Oates. Dave and Tone played mostly Transformation, and I believe Crystal Image as an encore. The next time was May, 1976, Tower theater opening for Hot Tuna. In February, 1976, I saw David ( solo piano ) and Ernest ( drums, perxussion ) play the Main Point, in Bryn Mawr. This first track was very reminiscent of several pieces played that night. Nobody really showed for a second show, so they let us stay. Dave and Ernest left the stage and returned for a second show, playing the same set again! At one point David said, " That's all we know, somebody give me a key!" " E" one of our friends said! "Major or minor?!" " Minor" was the reply, so Dave improvised a long piece. It was a cold night in Bryn Mawr that night, but not at the Main Point! 15:31

What a great find! I saw this band during this period but with Wayne Krantz instead of Hiram Bullock. Amazing show. It was a shame that after the album, Sextet that Carla never did anything else with this stellar lineup. Thank you!

that Port of Entry was so epic, so much power and speed but Joe's different almost delicate solos with amazing tone was awesome!

In case you are hesitating investing the time here ..well it's a worthwhile endeavor . CHICK at his competent greatest which could be often as well as often brilliant too . Serviceable group here as well... Prolific as Chick was it's understandable that one could gloss over these outings but I personally am grateful they are here for prosperity.

I got to join Allan at his souncheck and show at Roppongi Pit Inn when I was in Tokyo, Japan in 1989. He was on the Synthaxe and was explaining to me how it worked at their rehearsal...incredible experience! Got to also speak to Gary Husband and he told me that after the tour he talked Allan into going with him to record the new Level 42 album...which ended up being the Level 42 "Guaranteed" album! Incredible time talking and getting to see the band rehearsing with the great Gary Husband on drums. The whole band was on fire at this show!!!
